FAQ

How much does a tattoo cost?
Our shop minimum is $100, our hourly rate ranges from $150 to $200 (depending on the artist). That said, the price of a tattoo is often dependent on the design/size/placement of the tattoo. You are always welcome to come in and chat with anyone here for a price quote for what you are looking for, as price quotes over the phone are rather hard.

Appointment info.

A $50 deposit will be taken for appointments, that goes towards the cost of the tattoo. They secure your appointment and are non-refundable.  Please give 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule.

Is there anything for my friends to do while I'm getting tattooed?
There are all sorts of great businesses just a hop and skip from Grizzly including Hopworks BikeBar right next door,  EaT Oyster Bar, XLB, Either Or Cafe, The Box Social, Vendetta Bar, Brass Tacks Sandwiches, Life Of Pie Pizza, Shine Distillery & Grill, Eem, and then some.

If I'm under 18 can I get a tattoo?
Sorry to say that very strict state laws don't allow us to tattoo anyone under the age of 18, not even with parental consent.

Do I need to make an appointment to get tattooed?
Not necessarily. We gladly take walk-ins if there is an available artist but we recommend making an appointment. You are welcome to call the shop to inquire about our availability.

Do you tattoo hands and feet?
Yes, but free touch-ups are not guaranteed.  We will not tattoo your heel, in-step, or the bottom of your foot.

What should I wear when I get tattooed?
Comfortable clothing. Think about the location of your tattoo and come prepared with clothing that you'll be comfortable getting tattooed in.

Aftercare

We like to keep it pretty simple here at Grizzly. The most important thing in terms of protecting and caring for your new tattoo is to keep it clean and allow it to breathe. After the first night of wearing the bandage on your tattoo, remove the bandage, wash the tattooed area lightly with soap and then keep your tattoo as exposed as possible. If it's on a part of your body that must be clothed wear the lightest clothing there as possible. During the healing process do not soak your tattoo. If you go swimming or take baths just be careful not to submerge your tattoo for more than a minute or so at a time.

When your tattoo starts to itch and get dry, usually on day three or four, begin regularly and generously applying lotion. DO NOT PICK AT YOUR TATTOO.  We recommend hypo-allergenic, non-scented white lotion. Avoid petroleum products or very oily lotions. After a couple weeks your tattoo will most likely be completely healed. For the life of your tattoo apply sunblock.  If you have any questions at all, feel free to call us.
